Victoria Peak (太平山), commonly known as The Peak, is the highest hill on Hong Kong Island, rising to an elevation of 552 metres (1,811 ft). As one of Hong Kong’s most iconic attractions, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city, including Central, Victoria Harbour, and the surrounding islands such as Lamma Island.

While the actual summit is occupied by telecommunications facilities and is not open to the public, “The Peak” typically refers to the surrounding area, which encompasses scenic parks, premium residential neighbourhoods, and major tourist attractions. This prestigious district—also including areas like Victoria Gap, Mount Kellett, and Mount Gough—is known as one of the most exclusive residential locations in Hong Kong.

The Peak is a must-visit destination, combining natural beauty with modern attractions. Visitors often travel via the historic Peak Tram to reach the summit area, arriving at landmarks such as:

    • Sky Terrace 428 – The highest viewing platform in Hong Kong, offering spectacular 360° views.
    • The Peak Tower & Peak Galleria – Popular complexes featuring shopping, dining.
    • Peak Circle Walk – A scenic 3.5 km trail surrounded by lush greenery, perfect for a relaxing stroll.
    • Lion’s Pavilion – A free and picturesque viewpoint ideal for photography.
    • Madame Tussauds Hong Kong – A fun and interactive wax museum located within The Peak Tower.
